Sweet :D
13 hours to go!!!!!!
I could have be there already! Damn
Dunno exactly how, but seems I fixed it.
Update: I did not fix it until I spent $90 to buy another hard drive.
D: my 200GB of goodness.
Last weekend when I was working on my webMM project on my iMac G5. I heard some strange noice from the top left corner of the computer, and I instantly reconize what this sound could mean: Hard disk failure. At first, I still got hopes in it. Then I reboot it. No luck. It stucked in a grey screen which I almost thought it would be a sucessful boot, but after a few minutes. Still ain't any observable progress. I tried to pop-in my restore disc and run hardware test and repair disk and try to reboot. No luck again. Then I try to reinstall the OS using archive and install option and hope that was only an OS problem. The installation halt at the verifying install location. I tried to reboot again. Magic happens. The amazing grey apple logo reappear and slowly brought me back to my desktop, the entire boot process took me about 2 minutes, darn slow ;-) . Once I'm back in the OS I started to backup my stuff like crazy. I tried to copy my good home folder to my external disk but when I got my hands on this, a prompt said the target location is not large enough for the operation. Then I went back to my home folder, Cmd-i it. I read 60GBs. Right, lets do some quick maths: My iPod 3G hold 20GBs of files, now filled with 4GBs of music, about 16GBs was left;My external hard disk is 40GBs big and stuffed with 35GBs of my works, 5Gb remains. FINE. Then I fired up my Toast, slide open my drawer and took out a couple of DVDs, and started to archiving things up. A few hours of sweat and blood. I held a couple of DVDs on my hand and looking at my satuated iPod and external HD, I plan for the next stage: to move things onto my iBook, since I still have to work on my computer. But things ain't that simple. My iBook only sport a 30Gb hard disk. That means I have to rely on my external storage for mass storage.
Being working in 1024x768 is just painful. I really miss my 20' monitor.
WHAT? An 400Gb 7200rpm hard disk cost $700? That's fucking expensive.
